a quiet one, only the relatives in the state and a few intimate friends being

Casgrain. The ceremony was private, none but the brothers and sisters of the
bride and groom being present. The bride was given away by her brother, Gaspard
Lemoine and Panet Angers acted as best man for the groom.

SCHULTZ-BERRY
- (Kingston) On Saturday evening Fred Schultz of Odessa was married to Lillie
Berry, the 15-year-old daughter of a Kingstonian. A few hours after the wedding
the groom was arrested on a warrant charging him with perjury on having made an
affidavit before the licence issuer that the parents of his intended had given
their consent to the marriage. He spent Sunday in the cells. When the roll was
called at the police court this morning the bride and groom answered to their
names. On the way from the cells to the court the bride clung affectionately to
the arm of her husband. The friends of the contracting parties were present
with their counsel. Mr. Snook appeared for Mrs. Berry and Mr. McIntyre for the
groom.
While
the newly-wedded couple stood waiting for the case to proceed, the lawyers and
the magistrate had a private conference which was highly interesting. After
looking into the particulars of the case, they came to the conclusion that to
allow the young couple to go their way in peace would be the most fitting end
to the whole affair. The couple left for Ernestown this afternoon.
BATES-FLAHERTY;
BRACE-FLAHERTY - (Halifax) Two sisters named Grace and Lois Flaherty, aged
seventeen and sixteen, daughters of Robert Flaherty, slipped out of their
father's house last night and repaired to the residence of a clergyman with two
boys named Bates and Brace where they were married. Bates is eighteen years old
and the other lad seventeen. The girls afterward informed their parents of the
marriage and were taken back home but without the companionship of their
husbands.

- A quiet wedding occurred yesterday at the residence of the Misses Cook,
mountain brow. Miss Alice Cook, a very estimable young lady, well known and
liked in Hamilton and an active member of Macnab Street Presbyterian Church,
was married to Rev. James Milne, B.A., of Mansewood, Halton county. Only
relatives of the bride and groom witnessed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Milne
departed in the afternoon for New York.

- (Detroit) A quiet wedding took place Saturday morning at No 532 Third Avenue,
the home of the bride's father, when Miss Millie Britt, youngest daughter of
Edward Britt, was married to W. G. Brown, son of the late Thomas Brown. The
bride was attended by Miss Florence Slocum and the groom by Will Britt of
Toronto. After the ceremony which was performed by Rev. Dr. Henderson of the
Woodward Avenue Baptist Church, the bridal party drove to the Cadillac where
the wedding breakfast was served. Mr. and Mrs. Brown left on the noon train for
the east and after a short trip will take up their residence in Toronto.

- (Campbellford) Miss Rose O'Sullivan, aged seventeen, and Charles Dryden, aged
nineteen, have been keeping company for some time recently, and on Sunday last
went for a drive. It has transpired to be an elopement as they drove to Stirling
and were married, going thence to Desoronto, Dryden's former home. The girl is
reputed to be worth some $7000 of which a farm near Toronto valued at $4000.
