RIDOUT-MACPHERSON - (Toronto) There was a brilliant gathering in St. Paul's Church this afternoon to witness the marriage of Miss Christina MacPherson daughter of Sir David Macpherson, to Percival R. Ridout, son of the late Joseph R. Ridout, of this city. The bride had five bridesmaids and four little boys dressed in velvet carried her train. The Bishop of Toronto officiated, assisted by Canon Dumoulin and Rev. T. O. Desbarres. After the ceremony a reception was held at Sir David's residence Chestnut Park. The happy pair left on the evening train for Hamilton.

 

MASON-KERNIGHAN - At Christ Church, West Flamborough, yesterday, Miss May Kernlghan, only daughter of Andrew Kernighan, Rockton, was married to R. A. Mason, of the Northwest Territories. The bride was beautifully dressed and looked as charming and happy as her numberless friends wished her. She was attended by Miss Bella Geohagen of West Flamborough, and Miss Victoria Mason, of Barrie. Miss Wishart played Mendelssohn's wedding march at the conclusion of the ceremony. Rev. T. Geohagen and R. K. Kernighan, brother of the bride, supported the groom who is a nephew of the late Chief Justice Harrison, and Rev. Richard Harrison, rector of St. Matthew's , Toronto, who married them.

WHITE-HAYDEN - There was a large crowd in Christ Church, Woodburn, the occasion being the marriage of Miss Mary Ann Hayden, of Woodburn,and Mr. William White, of Colorado. The service was performed by Rev. Thomas Smith, the incumbent. The bride was attended by Miss Helena Twiss, her cousin, and the groom by Mr. Beverly Smith. This being the first wedding in the new church, the bride was presented with a handsome Bible from the clergyman and a well-filled purse from the congregation for her services as organist of Christ Church. Her father, the late Mr. Thomas Hayden, was the first organist in Woodburn, she taking his place at the age of fourteen years. After the service in the church, a large number of friends of the bride and groom repaired to the residence of the bride's brother-in-law, Mr. H. M. Ptolemy, and there partook of a wedding supper, after which the young couple took the train for Detroit followed by the best wishes of their many friends.

SHARON-SMITH - (Windsor) Henry Sharon, the dashing young man from Chicago who eloped with Florence Smith of Ingersoll, Ontario, on Monday and was interrupted in Windsor and robbed of his girl by Papa Smith, crossed to Detroit and put up at the Russel House last evening. This time he was accompanied by the young lady, now Mrs. Sharon. On Wednesday Sharon returned to Ingersoll where he argued to such good advantage with the old gentleman that the latter finally struck his colours and gave his consent to the marriage. Sharon claims to be a Chicago real estate dealer. He says the trouble all sprang from jealousy on the part of the new Mrs. Sharon's elder sister who somehow imagined Mr Sharon was getting the bride mixed. The bride is said to be but 17 years old, quite pretty and accomplished. The happy couple left for Chicago to-day.

Gardiner, editor of the "Hamilton Times", was married here last night to Mrs. Adaline Gilbert of College Hill. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. Joseph Young of the tabernacle. The happy couple left for the west this afternoon. Mr. Gardiner, although superannuated now, was forty years in the active ministry and was one of the best known Methodist clergymen in this part of Ontario twenty-four years ago.
