Mr. Patterson intends resuming his business duties at once, dispensing with the usual honeymoon trip, unless this flying visit to London may be considered such.

Hubbard, daughter of Mr. C. H. Hubbard. Miss Hubbard, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Mr. Groto was groomsmen. The groom is brother to Mrs. J. H. Mattice of this city. The happy pair left on a bridal trip to Italy.

NIVEN-MACBETH - Dr. Niven, assistant surgeon of the Seventh Battalion, was married this morning in St. Paul's church, to Miss Macbeth, eldest daughter of the late George Macbeth of this city (London), the Rev. Canon Innes officiating.

 

INGLEHART-MITCHELL - Mrs. L. F. Mitchell of this city was married at the Franklin House yesterday afternoon to James H. Inglehart of Grimsby by Rev. R. S. Bull. The bridesmaids were Miss Bell of Guelph and Miss Ada Chase of Hamilton, and the groomsmen were Charles A. Burden and W. H. McWatters, both of this city. A large number of guests were present not only from the city but from a distance. The wedding presents were numerous and costly. The happy couple left last evening for a trip through the southern states and thence to Sherman, Texas. They expect to be absent on their wedding trip for a couple of months.

DUPORT-LABELLE (Montreal) - Miss Labelle, daughter of Capt. Labelle of the Richilieu and Ontario Steamboat Co., was married yesterday to Dr. Duport.

 

BARKER-KELK - Last Monday afternoon, Mr. John Barker, who has lived on the mountain near the city until recently, was married by Rev. Mr. Bull of Barton to Mrs. Kelk of this city. The acquaintance and courtship began together, and both lasted only a week, but the lover pressed his suit with such ardour that nothing but absolute and unconditional surrender was possible on the part of the lady. A brief honeymoon is now being enjoyed at a distance by the happy couple, but they intend to make Hamilton their home. There is nothing remarkable about the marriage except that the bridegroom has put 80 years behind him and the bride is 65, and both of them have grandchildren.

The young and happy couple left by the morning train for the east.

O'BRIEN-VAIL (Halifax) - St. Luke's Cathedral wag crowded to-day by a very brilliant assembly of the elite of the city, with the officers of the army and navy in full uniform, to witness the marriage of Miss Vail, daughter of W. B. Vail, MP for Digby, and Major O'Brien of the Royal Engineers. The couple left this evening on a month's tour of Canada and the United states. It is said the bridegroom, just after the ceremony, received notice of his promotion to the position of Colonel.

MOCKRIDGE-IRWIN, MOCKRIDGE-VANINWAGEN - Two brothers of Rev. C. H. Mockridge of this city have just resigned themselves to a matrimonial state. The doctor                  officiated Wednesday at the wedding of the older of the two, James, who has a responsible position in the Bank of Toronto in Barrie. The bride and groom are both very popular in Barrie and a large crowd of people were present, to witness the ceremony. The bride, Miss Annie Irwin, looked lovely in her bridal dress of white satin...

A few days previous to this ceremony Mr. W. Whitney Mockridge who is well known as a singer of fast increasing fame, was united in marriage to Miss Louise VanInwagen, a charming young Chicago lady. They passed through this city on their wedding tour, paying a visit to their brother


here, took a run to Barrie, and from there went their way to New York where the two couples will meet to enjoy the sights of that famous city. Mr. James Mockridge will resume his position in Barrie and Mr. W. Mockridge will reside in New York. He is at present fulfilling an engagement as tenor soloist at the great musical festival which is being held this week at Worcester, Mass.
