COCHRANE-MACKINNON - On Wednesday last at the Chapel
of the British Embassy, Paris, by the Venerable Archdeacon Keating, Lord
Cochrane, eldest son of the Earl of Dundonald, K.C., to Louise, daughter of Mr.
Mackinnon, M.P. After the ceremony the party proceeded to the apartments in
Place Vendome of Mr. Mackinnon where a breakfast was provided, at which a
circle of relatives, friends, and connections of both parties were assembled.
Amongst those who attended were the members of the English Embassy now in
Paris, the Earl and Countess of Dundonald, the Marquis de Baissy, the Hon. Mr.
Cochrane, the Marquis de la Rochejocquelin, the Lord and Lady Fevesham, the
Baron and Baroness Dimsdale, Lady Katharine Fleming, Captain Mackinnon of the
Guards, the Right Hon. H. Ellis, and about fifty more friends, relatives, and
connections. Shortly afterward, the young couple left for Fontainebleau amid
the good wishes and congratulations of their friends. (Lord Cochrane arrived in
Canada in 1837 in the 66th Regiment,)
