BOWMAN
(Kingston) Aug. 16 - The birth of four children on Sunday afternoon - three of
which give excellent promise of living - has created great interest in the
city. Mrs. Bowman, the mother of the babes, is a daughter of Sergt. Culhane,
Fifth field battery, and was born in Hyderabad, twenty five years ago.
The babies were baptized yesterday, the boys are James, St. Vincent, and
Michael James.
The girl is
called Mary. Rev. Father O’Brien christened them. Mrs. Mayor Livingston was a
caller and left a five dollar bill.
The proud possessor of the babies is not favoured with an over-abundance
of this world’s goods, and when the news of the birth became known, willing
neighbours set their sewing machines at work, to provide the necessary clothes
for the infants.

(Thamesville, Ont.) Aug. 24 - The wife of William C. McKinley, of the township
of Camben, this morning presented her husband with three fine healthy babies,
two boys and a girl. The girl and one
boy each weighed five pounds, and the other boy five and a half pounds. The
physician, who is in attendance, reports mother and children all doing well.
The Queen will be asked to make the usual donation.
